Job Description

Camp Modin has summer job openings on our Sailing Team. Camp Modin is looking for motivated, energetic, positive, and caring individuals to join our staff for this summer! Many of our staff, from a variety of majors, have been able to get internship credit through their schools. We provide great salaries, as well as housing, laundry, and meals for the summer. Come to Camp Modin to have the best summer of your life!

A little bit about the job: As a counselor, you would be working and living in a cabin with a group of children (our kids range from 7-16 years) and participating in activities, sports, field trips, etc. What sets Modin apart is the magnificent waterfront nestled on the shores of Salmon Lake, a tight-knit community, and our state-of-the-art facilities.

Our Sailing Specialists are responsible for running our sailing program and ensuring safety on the water. They work with campers in a wide range of both ages (7-16) and experiences. We have over 100 watercraft on camp including Lasers, Sunfish, Hunters, Hobie Cats, pedal boats, and more. Our Sailing specialists bring their own games, lessons, and experiences to camp and take an active role in shaping the program. You would also get involved with the campers in the bunks at meal times, in the evenings, and on trips. Some activity areas include:
  • Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Floor Hockey, Lacrosse, Tennis, Pickleball, Gymnastics
  • Water Activities: Swim Instruction, Waterski, Wakeboarding, Tubing, Kneeboarding, Paddleboarding, Canoe/Kayaking, Sailing
  • Creative Arts: Arts & Crafts, Ceramics, Guitar, Drums, Theater, Nature, Dance
  • Adventure: High Ropes Course, Climbing Tower, Camping, Outdoor Adventure
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Sailing & instructing experience
  • A passion for Sailing
  • Lifeguard certification desired (though all sailing specialists will go through lifeguard training at Modin)
  • Motivated, Hardworking, Dedicated
  • Positive Individual
  • Want to make a difference in the lives of kids
  • Experience working with kids is a plus
BENEFITS:
  • Housing in dormitory style cabins, with some private housing available
  • Regular days and nights off throughout summer.
  • All meals and laundry service included
  • Salaries start at $3,000 for the summer
  • $500 completion bonus
  • Got skills? We pay more! Extra pay for specialized skills starting at $500-$1000+
  • Up to $500 travel stipend (for distances greater than 450 miles)
  • $100 “refer-a-friend” bonuses (for hired individuals who arrive to work at camp)
