We are looking for an experienced person who is a coach/instructor for our Optimist, ILCA and possibly RS AERO sailors

The sailing club Þytur is located in Hafnarfjörður, a suburb of Reykjavík, Iceland.We are looking for an experienced person who is a coach/instructor for our Optimist, ILCA and possibly RS AERO sailors from approximately April until at least the end of August. During the summer there are four competitions where the coach would need to accompany their sailors. The last competition takes place on August 29–30 in Akureyri.In May, Þytur invites all 6th grade students in our municipality to visit the club for an open session. This also needs to be organized and supervised. The students are introduced to sailing, taught how to use life jackets, and then get the opportunity to try kayaking and possibly rowing boats.We also run summer courses for youth that start in early June and continue through July. These are two groups per day one in the morning and the second one in the afternoon.The coach/instrucor would be responsible for running these courses and would have other staff members assisting who are familiar with the sea and are or have been sailors at our club.The person taking on this role may also offer adult training sessions if there is interest.At our club we have a tower where we have offered accommodation to our foreign coaches, which helps reduce living costs. The room includes a bed, bedding, pillows, chairs, a dresser, and other basic furnishings.
