Job Description

RYA Senior Instructor / Developing Senior Instructor (Seasonal)
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable RYA Senior Instructor, or an experienced RYA Dinghy Instructor ready to progress quickly towards Senior Instructor level, to join Keep Sailing for the 2026 season.
This is a hands-on role delivering high-quality sailing sessions across adult, youth and group programmes, while also helping lead safe, professional and well-organised daily operations across our sites. Skills

Strong dinghy sailing, coaching and session management ability
Confidence supervising safe water-based operations
Friendly, approachable and professional with customers
Clear communication and good teamwork
Reliable, flexible and able to adapt to busy seasonal operations
Able to take initiative and support less experienced instructors where needed

Responsibilities

Deliver RYA dinghy sailing courses and follow-on sessions for adults and young people
Lead or support youth programmes, schools, group bookings and corporate sessions
Help maintain safe, efficient and professional daily operations on and off the water
Support instructor teams with briefing, organisation and operational standards
Carry out equipment checks, rigging support and general operational tasks
Help create a safe, enjoyable and professional learning environment
Support high standards of customer care, presentation and safety across Keep Sailing centres
Act as In charge Instructor for the site as delegated by management

Experience

Strong experience teaching dinghy sailing to a range of ages and abilities
Experience working in a watersports centre, club or seasonal training environment
Confidence taking responsibility within a busy operational setting
Experience supporting group sessions, youth activity or school delivery is desirable
For non-SI applicants: evidence of being close to Senior Instructor standard and able to progress quickly in role

Qualifications Essential

RYA Senior Instructor, or RYA Dinghy Instructor with the experience and capability to progress quickly to Senior Instructor level
Valid First Aid certificate
Eligible to work in the UK
Willingness to follow Keep Sailing safeguarding, health and safety, and operating procedures at all times

Desirable

RYA Powerboat Instructor
RYA endorsements such as Racing, Keelboat or Multihull
SUP Instructor
Full UK driving licence
Current DBS certificate
