Position Overview: We are seeking passionate and experienced Sailing Instructors for the upcoming summer season. The Sailing Instructor will be responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and educational sailing lessons to campers of varying skill levels. This position offers a unique opportunity to share your love for sailing while fostering teamwork, confidence, and water safety skills among campers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive sailing curriculum tailored to the skill levels and ages of campers.

• Provide hands-on instruction in sailing techniques, including rigging, launching, tacking, jibing, and docking.
•  
• Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to established safety protocols and closely monitoring weather conditions and water activity.
•  
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where campers feel encouraged to challenge themselves and develop their sailing abilities.
•  
• Organize and supervise sailing excursions, races, and other related activities both on and off-site.
•  
• Maintain and inventory sailing equipment, ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and repair as needed.
•  
• Collaborate with other camp staff to integrate sailing activities into the overall camp program and schedule.
•  
• Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and sportsmanship at all times.
•  
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and staff, providing regular updates on camper progress and addressing any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
•  
• Participate in staff training, meetings, and other camp-related activities as required.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience teaching sailing to children and teenagers, preferably in a camp or recreational setting.
•  
• Strong sailing skills and proficiency in various types of sailboats
•  
• Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and lifeguarding (preferred).
•  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with campers of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and a passion for outdoor education and youth development.
•  
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude, particularly in a dynamic camp environment.
• Must pass a background check and adhere to all camp policies and procedures.
