Job Description

The Head Watersports Instructor is the beating heart of that magic: leading a talented team, mastering an incredible range of kit and making sure every single moment on the water is as safe as it is spectacular. This is someone who leads from the front, thinks on their feet, and turns "just a swim" into the story guests tell for years. Safety is sacred, standards are sky-high, and the island spirit, bold, warm, a little bit wild , runs through everything they do. 
Qualifications / Experience ❑ 5 years minimum working in watersports as an instructor. ❑ 2 years management experience in watersports/ activities industry ❑ Proven leadership skills and people management skills ❑ Water sports qualifications: Senior BKSA or IKO kitesurfing Level 2, RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor ❑ Must hold RYA power boat level 2 and RYA Safety Boat certificates or equivalent. ❑ RYA Powerboat Instructor certificate desirable. ❑ RYA Advanced Powerboat or Yachtmaster Offshore certificates desirable. ❑ Medical response and First Aid certification ❑ Quality resort / property experience ❑ Other preferable attributes: RYA windsurfing qualification, PADI dive master instructor or any other watersports experience.

What’s the gig? Here’s what you’d do: ❑ Ensure the Necker watersports experience is delivered safely and to an exceptionally high standard ❑ Maintain all of the kit ❑ Encourage guests to partake in all watersports activities on the island. ❑ Lead the activities team on a daily basis, booking guests lessons and excursions, Running daily meetings, working alongside the guests services team to create fun, exciting and bespoke itineraries for guests on island. ❑ Assist other departments when necessary in carrying out their tasks ❑ Carry out Duty Manager shifts when required
The water sports role includes: ❑ Day to day guest activities. This will range from teaching lessons, running guest activities to guest excursions. ❑ Preparing, setting up and packing down guest areas ❑ Proving safety cover for guest activities ❑ Maintaining all Watersports equipment ensuring regular inventory as well as maintenance and safety checks are carried out to ensure that all equipment is kept in excellent condition ❑ Reporting any safety concerns to management ❑ Adhering to all activities operating procedures and safety protocols ❑ Adhering to all power boat operating procedures and safety protocols ❑ Ensuring the safety of guests and staff while doing activities ❑ Driving outboard boats ❑ Cleaning boats ❑ Collecting and dropping guest luggage on arrival and departure days ❑ Overseeing all Admin in the department, creating Purchase Orders, ordering stock, keeping inventory, scheduling of the team.
